Entry level
Team member diploma level 5
The Hospitality Team Member Diploma at SCQF Level 5 is designed to introduce learners to the essential skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required to work effectively as a team member within the hospitality industry. It is ideal for individuals starting their career or seeking to build a strong foundation for employment across sectors such as hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars, and events.
The qualification focuses on developing practical workplace skills alongside an understanding of customer service excellence. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, communication, and delivering positive customer experiences. There are a wide range of optional units which reflect the varied roles available in the hospitality industry, such as receptionists, bartenders, servers, baristas, crew and team members, guest hosts, and housekeeping assistants.
Through hands-on learning and realistic work-based activities, learners will develop confidence in carrying out day-to-day hospitality duties while meeting industry standards. The qualification also supports the development of employability skills such as time management, reliability, and professional conduct within a hospitality setting.

Supervisory level

The Management qualification at SCQF Level 7 is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for individuals progressing into first-line or junior management roles across a range of industries. While the qualification can be completed within the hospitality industry, it is a generic management award that supports learning and development in a wide variety of organisational contexts.
The qualification focuses on developing core management skills that are transferable across sectors. Learners will gain an understanding of key management functions, including planning and organising work, leading and supporting teams, managing resources, and contributing to the achievement of organisational objectives. Emphasis is placed on effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving in the workplace.
